If Marciano were fighting today he would have been in the cruiserweight division. Could you imagine?

I guess David Haye would have been his toughest opponent. I think Marciano would have knocked out all of his opponents at this weight class inclding Haye. What are your thoughts?

Well obviously nobody knows much about boxing past 1995.The boxers of Marciano's day where much better,i know you can't tell that because they didn't fight in high def or had a bunch of analysts over hyping them,but trust me they were better.Ezzard Charles was a better boxer than anybody fighting now,way better.Today's fighters are not faster or stronger,they don't fight all that often to acquire the necessary experience to be great.Their trainers don't teach them proper footwork or how to work off the jab,also they don't teach how to roll with punches like the old timers.Rocky would have wiped out today's cruiserweights.None of them are any good,and would have been easy knockout victims.Hopkins would give him the most trouble but he wouldn't have the power to hurt him.Remember Rocky fought Charles,Walcott,Moore,Louis,and LaStarza were all great fighters/boxers and even though Moore,Walcott,and Louis were old they had a lot left.They were also better than all the heavy's and cruiser's out there now.What these guys did was box the right way and to some that seems like they aren't doing much because we are to used to guys doing a whole lot of moving but getting nothing done.That stuff looks like they're very skilled but it's more show than anything.James Toney said it himself that if your a young boxer look at the old timers they're the ones that can teach you not the guys of the last 20-30 years.Toney is a great fighter and hard to hit without moving around that much,and Hopkins said the same thing as Toney and look how tough he is to fight.Btw i'm not some grumpy old man that thinks everything old is better i'm only 30 but i've watched alot of boxing and can see the difference.Marciano cruiserweight champ.
